My fitness journey began about 3 months after I had my daughter. After giving birth, I suffered with baby blues and slight postpartum depression. I could go from blissfully happy to incredibly sad or angry in a matter of seconds. I talked with my husband, Nick, about my mood swings and mentioned the potential need to go on medication. He recommended that I first try exercising again before taking pills. As a new mother, the thought of finding time to work out seemed impossible, but I knew he was right. I knew I had to take care of myself first before I could take care of my family.

I started researching and looking into gyms. I wanted to find something that I knew I would stick with. I knew that I was competitive in nature, that I was a full-time working mom, and that I wanted to put on lean muscle. I found a gym that offered HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) workouts in a group setting. From day one, I was hooked! I was surrounded by healthy competition, and I realized that working out in a group setting motivated me to go harder and faster than I would working out by myself. I would look around and tell myself, “If they can do it, then so can I!” Not only did I see insanely fast results physically, but I felt better mentally and emotionally. My mood swings slowly disappeared, and I finally felt normal again. In fact, I was better than normal! I had more energy and more confidence than ever before. I put on a ton of lean muscle and was proud to be in the best shape of my life after having my first child. The best part was, as a mom, I never had to feel guilty for spending time on myself, because classes were just 30 minutes long. 30 minutes of fat-burning, cardio-conditioning, strength-building FUN!

My new passion for exercise, nutrition and healthy living led me to pursue ownership in Fit Body Boot Camp, whose ideals align with my own. My #1 goal is to inspire and lead YOU to become YOUR best self, and I will do this by educating you on proper nutrition and by sharing Fit Body Boot Camp’s Unstoppable Fitness Formula with you. I have always been passionate about helping others and being fit and healthy. I have been involved with athletics and fitness throughout almost my entire life. I started cheerleading at a young age and continued throughout college. After college, I stopped cheering and started losing my muscle tone. I started getting unhealthy.

Although the gym intimidated me, I pushed myself to make it in 4-5 days a week. I quickly fell in love with the hard work I was putting in at the gym, and in combination with eating a healthy, well-balanced diet, I started seeing and feeling my body change for the better. A few years later, I started competing in bikini fitness and working with some of the top people in the fitness industry. I have learned so much from them, and I cannot wait to share it all with as many people as I can, because I want to help change lives for the better!

Just like everyone else, my fitness journey has had many ups and downs. I know how intimidating the gym can be and how scary it is to get outside of your comfort zone. I also know how great it feels to accomplish your goals and how bad it feels to fail, and what takes to get in the best shape of your life.

I’ve experienced post-show rebounds/weight gain and post-show blues. I’ve deprived myself of “junk food,” only to binge eat later on. I’ve intentionally gained and lost muscle, had out of whack hormones, healed a damaged metabolism, battled hypothyroidism, worked with injuries, healed injuries, tried short and long reverse diets, and experienced difficulty trying to conceive due to diet/exercise/hormones.

Currently, I am preparing my body for pregnancy so that I prevent excess weight gain and maintain my health. The list just keeps going on and on, and it will grow even longer as I continue my never-ending fitness journey.

I have been a full-time nurse for 6 years, yet on the side I’ve also helped many people work towards their health and fitness goals because that is what I am most passionate about. I cannot wait for this opportunity to help even more people lose weight and get fit the proper and sustainable way and on a much larger scale! Our gym is for all fitness levels, and we are one big family. We can’t wait for you to be a part of it!
